The FTC did a study and found that 55% of all weight-loss advertisements made claims that were most likely false or didn't provide any proof. Incidentally, the weight-loss industry is worth $30 billion a year, mostly made from false advertising awashed with words like "melt away," "no diet or exercise is required", and "miracle" substances, as well as "seek and destroy" fat.
