Bertrand Russell called Boredom an evil for civilization and insisted that man should keep himself busy, which is a challenge for many in absence of proper guidance.

On the other hand, Joseph Brodsky says boredom is a "natural condition of modern life". He suggests we should welcome boredom as it helps us realize our proper place in the world. Maybe he wants us to think more.
