In the United States, orange is the color of many prison uniforms. In India, bhagwa, an orangish color, is the color of dress of people who want to imprison India under one religion...and a host of other ones.

Yogi Adityanath, the CM of UP, is taking forward the tradition of colors as political branding - first, government booklets and school bags were changed to saffron colour, now comes the turn of a rural bus service.

Other examples of colors as tools of politican branding are: Blue for Mayawati, Green for SP, Yellow for DMK, Saffron for BJP and RSS...

For the time being in UP, orange is the new black.
