Oprah's Book Club did not help Publishing: Only stole sales from important literature away to fluff literature

The much vaunted Oprah's book club, long thought to be a boon to book publishing was not that good to publishing at all, according to a study. All Oprah's Book Club did was take sales away from books that ought to be read towards books that should largely have been best unread, all except Cormac Mccarthy's "The Road" (I remember Mccarthy saying to Oprah in an interview, he is not concerned he gets more readers via the book club, which made Oprah look hurt in a special, arrogant kind of way).
