The BJP-led Nagpur Municipal Corporation has allocated Rs. 1 crore for beautification of RSS premises. The RSS has its headquarters in Nagpur.
The beautification is for the Smruti (Memory) Mandir premises, which covers a sprawling ground, a big auditorium, as wella as samadhis of RSS founder K B Hedgewar and his successor M S Golwalkar.
To get around the furore caused by their action, the Committe says it will now get a tourist status for the complex.
