How Harvey Weinstein might survive the sexual abuse allegations (blame the news cycle)

On October 9, 2017 By newsroom Topic: Sexual abuse

This is what Elaine Lui, a veteran gossip columnist thinks:

1. Like Bill O’Reilly and Bill Cosby earlier, both of whom got away light with almost no sincere apology, Weinstein also seems to be getting away with a simple 'I am sorry, my bad' kind of apology, knowing fully well the media cycle will soon move away to the next hot story. He is simply not seeing it as a moral failure.

2. Weinstein is a smart marketer: Already he is telling stories about his 'team' who will work to save his honor, like some movie he is producing, and the media will be busy looking at all the names he has said...and then on to next news cycle.
