Gay Talese, one of the pioneers of literary journalism, wrote "Frank Sinatra Has a Cold," in 1966, a feature story that became one of the most celebrated magazine stories ever published. In a lecture at the Indiana University School of Journalism, Gay lays out his advice for modern-day writers, reporters, bloggers and what have you:
