It would not be hyperbole to suggest that "Do not track" is going to be the next big thing in the privacy wars that is fought between consumers and governments on one side and the likes of Google, Facebook, Foursquare and others on the opposing side.
As a New York Times article says, when they put in the "Do not call" registry, telemarketing calls dropped by 90%. Soon, if regulators have their way, web sites will have "Do not track" option button displayed prominently.
