In this modern age (or, is it postmodern, I keep forgetting), when was the last time you really created something with your hands. No, typing does not count. But, writing a novel in long hand does.
Take up some DIY project: For the technically oriented, I suggest Make magazine.
Search Google for any DIY that might think of.
Create a Mini-farm on your terrace - grow your own vegetables: Urban farming is so in.
Build a bookcase.
Do something with your hands.
Idle hands are curse, folks.
