Annals of government loot: DOD, HUD Defrauded Taxpayers Of $21 Trillion From 1998 To 2015

On October 9, 2017 By newsroom Topic: Government

All government departments waste people's money, defense ministires more than others. The U.S. DOD (Department of defense) has been accused, in past and now, of falsifying its accounting (for example, wrong budget adjustments, and lack of receipts and invoices to support the adjustments). Now the DOD is being accused of mishandling  large sums of taxpayer money.

In 2016, Reuters had reported DOD had “lost” $6.5 trillion in 2015 due to “wrongful budget adjustments.” Almost half of that, $2.8 trillion, was lost in just one quarter.  The sum is also larger than the current national debt. This 'loss' adds up to $65,000 for each man, woman and child resident in America. FYI, the cost per taxpayer of all U.S. wars waged since 9/11 has been $7,500 per taxpayer.

Actor Mark Ruffalo tweeted:

"A fraction of this would give us Universal Health Care, Free College, and Universal Basic Income for every American. Instead, murder machines and money in the pockets of war profiteers. Sick."
