Four Ways The Media Failed America

On November 12, 2016 By pramitsingh Topic: Trump-presidency

1. Major networks devoted only 32 minutes in 2016 to political issues.

2. Journalists failed to question the polls predicting a Clinton victory because the data confirmed their gut feeling about who would win (New York Times)

3. "Epic fail" in covering the political landscape by media as idealistic and naive journalists failed to take Trump voters seriously  (Washington Post)

4. The Nation writes: The GOP's attack on voting rights was the most under-covered story of 2016. This was the first presidential election in 50 years without the full protections of the Voting Rights Act.

Trump was elected by a little more than a quarter of eligible voters — a lot of Americans don't vote. What a difference 2 percentage points makes.
