The Best Rechargeable AA Batteries

On July 17, 2018 By newsroom Topic: Best Products

The best rechargeable AA batteries are built using the latest LSD NiMH1 (Low Self Discharge Nickel Metal Hydride) battery technology that can hold a much larger charge, retain it for much longer, and recharge more times than what was possible till recent times.

Modern rechargeable NiMH AA batteries also have a long shelf life. They are marked “pre-charged,” “low self discharge,” or “LSD” and will retain their charge for years, not just months.

The downside to rechargeables is that they take a long time to recharge. Experts suggest you buy an extra set of batteries, instead of faster charger.

Make sure you use the right charger. And never overcharge the batteries.

The best rechargeable AA batteries: Energizer Recharge Power Plus NiMH AA Rechargeable Batteries (and they are available everywhere vs specialty stores for some brands, packs the equivalent of three or more times the capacity of a cheap disposable battery into a single charge)

The second best rechargeable AA batteries: Imedion AA 2,400mAh Rechargeable Batteries from Powerex (same quality as the Energizer batteries above, but pricier)

The best rechargeable AA batteries / charger: Panasonic Advanced Individual Cell Battery Charger with Four eneloop batteries
