How to be remarkable #70: Be Determined

On October 25, 2016 By thesuccessmanual Topic: Remarkable

Paul Graham, the noted founder of YCombinator often says that 'In most domains, talent is overrated compared to determination'.

This guide belongs to 100 Ways To Be Being Remarkable Series, a special project that brings you business and self-development advice from The Success Manual.

How can we be more determined?
Paul Graham again: "(By) sheer willfulness. When you want something, you must have it, no matter what."

And, You also have to be hard on yourself.

Someone who was strong-willed but self-indulgent would not be called determined. Determination implies your willfulness is balanced by discipline.

Finally, You Must be clear about why are doing what you are doing.
In other words, you must be ambitous.

Without ambition, a determined man is like the Joker in "The Dark Knight" who had no apparant motive in his quest for chaos.
