| Ekta Kapoor set the trend at Star Plus with the Saas-Bahu serials, which was later copied to death by all the other hindi TV channels, all aiming for the same housewife demographic. Now Colors has become No.1 TV channel on the basis of its serials based on social causes - child marriage, female foeticide etc. Now it is coming up with groom kidnapping in Bihar. Not surprisingly, other TV channels are catching up on this new successful trend. Viewer fatigue may catch p sooner than they thought. It doesn't help that even in these 'social' serials, people wear gaudy clothes and live in gorgeously lighted houses and the serials come off as silly remakes of B.R. movies. |
